Getting high
During my time in Pakistan I have noticed that the term "getting high" is used quite freely and differently than back home. If some would say that they got high I would automatically assume that they have been smoking up or doing some other drugs/funny stuff. But in Pakistan I have heard the term getting high in several other contexts: sugar, coffee, shisha...
I never knew you could have a sugar high or get high on coffee!! Now, I've just had a huge cup of coffee and I have a feeling of being happy and content :) Does that mean I am high on coffee?? Sharmeen... I think you need to explain things to me ;)
And do people get high on sugar, coffee and shisha as a substitute for alcohol? Why not drink then?

Coffee? Not really! Shisha? Oh yeah!!!
If I smoke one shisha just for myself and NOT share it with anyone, I get high. Like I can barely walk, and talk stupid things and feel a bit crazy than usual. alcohole gives feeling of high, but different one than shisha (I also NEVER even tried to smoke a cigarretee, thats why for me even small amount of nicotine is disastrous :)).
That's why I usually SHARE my shisha with someone :)
coffee high? sugar high? ooooh ya and combined it is called a carmel machiato....and as luck would have it there is a particularly large one sitting on my desk right now :)
If today got you high then I don't need to explain anything ;)
I think it depends upon a person what makes him/her feeling high. A person even can get high after having a cup of Coffee and does not need to have a DRINK:). If it works then fine!
I am not sure if a DRINK(alcohol) really makes a person high:)!
what is it i read? my lovely LCP (no matter what kind of other fancy titles you get, you'll always be MY lcp;) getting high??? the perfectly calm, sensible and rational joanna? tihi...
well well, cant wait to see you (when ever that might be, but hopefully soon!).

Sugar tastes nicer. It doesn't not make you nausious as easy. It certainly does not give you a hangover after.
That's why.
